"Paradise Lost" - Sanibel Island Abstract Sunset Boat Painting 4x4 inches
4x4 inch Abstract Beach Sunset Painting dedicated to and inspired by Sanibel Island prior to Hurricane Ian's destruction. If you've ever been to Sanibel, you know what an island paradise it is. The hurricane left it unrecognizable. It will rebuild but here's a nod to the paradise that it was, prior to the devastation.
Look closely for the hidden message(s) cut from hymnals, magazines or books tucked into the paint. This was painted prior to the storm, and look at the hymn that is hidden in the boat... "Great is Thy Faithfulness". We are standing on that promise here in SW Florida after the hurricane ruined so much that we love.
Acrylic on 4x4 inch canvas with 1.25 inch depth. Sanibel Island is handwritten on the piece by me. Easily stands on it's own as a shelf sitter or can hang on the wall.
The beach is my happy place. When God called our family to move from North Carolina to the Gulf Coast of Florida in 2020, it was a shock but one comfort I had throughout the process was knowing I would be closer to the beach. As you likely know, the Gulf Coast is stunning with it's white powdery sand, clear water and spectacular sunsets over the water. I was inspired by those gorgeous sunsets when painting these abstract sunset pieces. After living here in Florida for 2 years now I can safely say that God knew what He was doing... in case there was ever any doubt. He has blessed my family and I more than I could have imagined in these past two years.
Every original painting includes hidden messages tucked into the paint! I cut these words and phrases from hymnals, magazines and books. They make for a super fun treasure hunt. Check the photos for these details. My work is designed to be bright, joy filled and free spirited but the hidden messages add depth and meaning to the happy, cheerful exterior. As you read these messages, I hope you are continually encouraged and inspired and that they remind you of God's goodness, faithfulness and purposes in your life.
It's humbling when people spend their hard earned money on my work and it's truly a dream come true. Thank you for inviting me into your homes through my artwork. I truly hope my art brings joy and encouragement, faith and fun as well as a pop of color into your home.
With Joy, alli
